Tulsa Police have stepped security ahead of Tuesday's rally where they expect nearly a thousand people to line the streets for a march from the Greenwood Cultural Center to city hall.

The department says it's been talking with protest organizers about how many people they're expecting and are working with city and emergency officials to plan for the march and rally.

"We just try to stay ahead of any potential problem there is but again, you cannot plan for anything. There's always the unknown," said Tulsa Police officer Leland Ashley.

Police say they'll have a large number of officers out but because of security concerns, they can't say how many.  If you see any trouble brewing, Tulsa Police ask that you report it immediately.

"If they see something that could potentially cause a disturbance with protests or anything, to give us a call," said Officer Leland Ashley.

With several peaceful protests over the past week, police believe Tulsans will not let things get out of hand.

"I think that says a lot about the community. I think that says a lot about us as a whole," said Officer Leland Ashley.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says they will be on standby as well if anything comes up.
