TU’s Chad President Out For Season With Leg Injury

The Tulsa football team will be without backup quarterback Chad President for the remainder of the season after he suffered an injury to his thigh.

President played in the second half of the Golden Hurricane’s 45-10 win over San Jose state in the season opener before sitting out the next three games.

Ryan Rubley will take over as the backup to starting quarterback Dane Evans.

President enrolled at TU mid-semester of 2015 after graduating early from Temple High School in Texas.

In his first season with the Golden Hurricane, he played in six games (East Carolina, Memphis, SMU, UCF, Cincinnati and Tulane) as a true freshman at quarterback and receiver. He wrapped the season with 43 yards on 17 carries and caught one pass for eight yards.

In high school, President was a three-year letterwinner at Temple. During his senior season, he led his team to a 13-2 overall record and the Class 5A state championship game and was named the 17-5A Offensive Player of the Year. 

Upon recruitment, he was ranked No. 3 quarterback in the state of Texas by Rivals.com and No. 9 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.
