Five Star Weather Day Oklahoma!

Super great weather is underway this morning with temperatures dropping into the 40s and lower 50s across most of northern OK.   This nice pattern will stick around through the weekend but south winds return Sunday in advance of our next system that will bring storms back to the region sometime next week.

The front that moved across the area yesterday is paying big dividends this morning.   Dry and cool air will continue today and Friday with no major weather issues.   Temps this morning in the 40s and lower 50s will stay in the lower 70s across most of eastern OK along with north winds and sunshine.  Fridays highs will be a few degrees warmer, but not much, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.    Friday night football could be the 1st “jacket required” game of the season.

This weekend begins the slow process of a pattern change that will bring storm chances back to the area by the middle of next week but the weekend forecast will remain mild with a slight warming trend by Sunday.

A weak disturbance will slide across northern OK Sunday with little more than a few clouds, but a stronger upper level low will deepen and eject into the central or northern high plains Tuesday.   A surface area of low pressure will form nearby and our winds will respond from the southeast Sunday through early next week helping to bring low level moisture back into the state.   The models continue to have some differences with the placement of the main low and also with the duration of a medium-long wave at the base of the trough nearing the state next week.   The result will be a chance for a few storms Tuesday night into Wednesday and possibly lingering into Thursday depending upon the timing of the above mentioned trough.

Until we get closer to next week, we’re in great shape with awesome 5-star weather both today and Friday.
