Tulsa State Fairgoers Excited For New Attractions

The Tulsa State Fair is underway - 11 days of fun for the whole family started when the gates opened at 5:00 Thursday night.

So how much does it cost to have fun at the fair with the family? Fair organizers say a family of four can expect to pay about $32 to get in.

"It's really not that bad and once you get in, there's so much free entertainment. We have "Wild About Monkeys," we've got some great Moto Maniac kind of acrobat shows and a lot of good stuff that, once you get in the gate, it's all free to do," Sarah Thompson said.

The rides, however, are a different story. One Mega Ride Pass will set you back $75.

But that pass is one way you can enjoy some of the new rides that the new ride operator brought along this year, and many are excited to try them out.

Tony: "Have you been to the fair before?"
Kids: "Oh yeah."
Tony: “Have you been on any of the new rides?"
Kids: "Not yet."
Tony: "Are you excited about the new rides?"
Kids: "Yes!"

Kids of all ages are getting in on the fun, including about 50 students from Sequoyah Elementary.

Teacher Sherry Blenman said, "The kids are having a great time. They love family fun nights, great discount, they're really enjoying themselves."

A new horse circus show popped up on the north side of the midway.

"I love it so far. Seeing all the different tricks; just think of all the training that goes into getting all these horses and the trainers get the show together," Keejuan Colbert said. “Honestly, I haven't been to the fair in a while, so a lot of it is new to me. I saw this big tent so I had to come and see, you know, what was going on."
