Manslaughter charges have been filed against a Pryor man after he ran over his ex-girlfriend back in March.

Now that girl's mother is speaking out about her daughter's death.

Sitting in front of her Mayes County home, Nevaeh Knight looked at the last picture she ever took of her daughter, Micaela Headrick.

"I'm thankful I took pictures of her and my grandson that night because that was the last time she was with my grandson," Knight said.

The 22-year-old Headrick - known to friends and family as "Dani" – died after she was run over by her ex-boyfriend Jerome Stimson's truck on March 23rd.

Dani laid in the hospital for more than a week in a coma before she finally died in April.

Knight said the two had been fighting right before the incident.

"He just kept saying he didn't mean to," Knight said.

The incident happened at the Pryor McDonalds; Stimson was driving out of the parking lot and onto 9th Street when Dani fell out of the truck.

Knight said, "I guess that's when he punched it, the black smoke came out and she was in the road."

The mother said she watched the surveillance video handed over to police that showed the incident.

She said Dani wanted to be an EMT and was hoping to get her life back on track and free of Stimson's influence.

"She would give you the clothes off her back, and she did," Knight said.

Her daughter's death is leaving a black hole in her life. Knight said nothing will bring her peace at this point but justice.

Stimson is also accused of driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving and possession of drugs.
