After Sterling Shepard left to play in the NFL, Dede Westbrook was supposed to be the man to step up at Wide Receiver for Oklahoma. But through the first three games, he was without a touchdown.

But last week against TCU, Westbrook tallied two scores to help the Sooners defeat the Horned Frogs, 52-46.

Saturday, No. 20 OU will look to take advantage of a Texas defense that’s going through a coaching change this week as the Baker Mayfield to Westbrook connection is finally clicking.

"It feels great being out there, running to the best of my abilities for the deep balls Baker is throwing,” said Westbrook. “[I’m] just pretty much striding out to go get them, feel great."

Mayfield added, "[Westbrook's] got such a unique speed, a top level speed, that when he's able to use it, he benefits from it. Talking about the TCU game, breaking off the screenplay for a decent game, which a lot of people wouldn't notice. We ran the same play against Ohio State, and he didn't have the same juice and it wasn't nearly as successful a play. It just makes a difference when he's full speed."
