MidAmerica Industrial Park Donates To Mayes County Schools
PRYOR, Oklahoma - The largest industrial park in the state announced a huge donation to some Oklahoma school districts Monday, October 10, 2016. MidAmerica Industrial Park is investing $3.5 million into a workforce development program - called MidAmerica Delivers.
Of that, over a million dollars will go toward building STEM labs in all five Mayes County school districts. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Oklahoma School Superintendent Joy Hofmeister said she wants to see these types of relationships grow.
"The partnership between the Mid-America Industrial Park and the school districts of Mayes County serve as a model to what we would like to see throughout the state," Hofmeister said.
The five districts that will be getting the STEM labs are Locust Grove, Chouteau-Maizie, Pryor, Adair and Salina.
