Family Finds Black Lab Puppy Lost In Fatal Dennis Byrd Wreck
ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma - The family of a former Jets player who was killed in a crash north of Claremore has found the dog that had been missing since the crash. Willow ran off from the two-vehicle crash that killed Dennis Byrd, 50, Saturday morning on Highway 88 near Lowry Road.
The 10-week-old black Lab pup was missing overnight despite efforts to find her in the rural area. Family members contacted News On 6 to say the Willow was missing and ask for the public's help in finding her.
Rogers County resident Linda Trout posted the good news on Tess Maune's Facebook page:
I live close to the crash site, and the puppy showed up at my house this morning. She was hungry, but unhurt and currently sleeping in my living room. I notified a friend of the family and they will be here after church to pick her up. SO glad we can reunite this sweet pup with her family!
