The mayor of New York City met with Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett this week to praise the Tulsa community's response to the Terrance Crutcher shooting.

The meeting at New York City's Gracie Mansion was at the invitation of Mayor de Blasio, according to a release from Mayor Bartlett's office.

Mayor de Blasio thanked the Tulsa community for the way it conducted peaceful demonstrations in the days after a the shooting on September 16th.

De Blasio praised Tulsans for staying cool under what he called very tense circumstances and kept the scenes that had happened in Dallas, Milwaukee, Ferguson and Charlotte from happening in Tulsa.
