A Glenpool woman has been charged with two counts of false impersonation by Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt.

Araceli Montoya, 35, is believed to have falsely used someone else’s name, date of birth and social security number to create a social security card, permanent resident card and complete other employment paperwork in order to apply for two different jobs, according to a news release from Pruitt's office.

The victim who had her identity stolen by Montoya has faced difficulties obtaining insurance coverage for her children and has also received medical bills for treatment of an injury that she had never received, according to Pruitt.

An investigation by the Attorney General’s Office found that Montoya had filed for a workers’ compensation claim under the false identity receiving a $16,000 settlement.

If convicted, Montoya could face up to 20 years in prison.
