One Dead After Car Collides With Semi Truck Near Broken Bow

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said one man is dead after his vehicle crossed the center line early Monday morning east of Broken Bow and collided head-on with a semi truck, causing both vehicles to burst into flames.

The crash happened at about 4:42 a.m. on U.S. 70 15 miles east of Broken Bow in McCurtain County, troopers said. 

Juan C. Bolanos-Lopez, 22, of DeQueen, Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries after his 2013 Toyota crossed the center line and crashed into the 2013 Mack Semi driven by 44-year-old William Beam of Valliant, Oklahoma, OHP reports. 

Beam was transported to a McCurtain County Hospital with trunk and back injuries and he's listed as stable, troopers said. 

The OHP said it is unknown why  Bolanos-Lopez crossed the center line. 

Bolanos-Lopez was pinned for approximately 50 minutes, the OHP said.
