One Dead After Car Collides With Semi Truck Near Broken Bow
McCURTAIN COUNTY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said one man is dead after his vehicle crossed the center line early Monday morning east of Broken Bow and collided head-on with a semi truck, causing both vehicles to burst into flames.
The crash happened at about 4:42 a.m. on U.S. 70 15 miles east of Broken Bow in McCurtain County, troopers said.
Juan C. Bolanos-Lopez, 22, of DeQueen, Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries after his 2013 Toyota crossed the center line and crashed into the 2013 Mack Semi driven by 44-year-old William Beam of Valliant, Oklahoma, OHP reports.
Beam was transported to a McCurtain County Hospital with trunk and back injuries and he's listed as stable, troopers said.
The OHP said it is unknown why Bolanos-Lopez crossed the center line.
Bolanos-Lopez was pinned for approximately 50 minutes, the OHP said.
