If you’re willing to help, about 700 Tulsa senior citizens could use some holiday cheer through the "Be a Santa for a Senior Program.”

Organizers hope to place a senior with a family who'll provide a simple holiday gift.

The Tulsa County and Creek County Nutritional program is partnering with the Home and Care Senior Program to make it happen.

Many of the gift requests are for necessities, like bath towels, toilet tissue and house shoes.

Project director, Rhonda Lynn, said, "We take a lot of this for granted ourselves. They are asking for very basic things - coffee, coffee pots, hygiene items or things they just can't get out to get.

To participate, head to a Drysdales Western store to pick a name from the tree by December 9th.
