MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma - Muskogee Police want people who need a coat to know they can get one from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 22, at the Muskogee County 911 Center, 520 Court Street. Police sponsored the 2016 Jimmy Moore Coat Drive and got an "overwhelming" response over the last two weeks.

"The response this year was overwhelming, and probably triples the donations from last year," a release states.

Residents donated not just coats but blankets and clothing as well.

"Words cannot express our gratitude in honoring Jimmy's legacy by making this year bigger and better," MPD said in the release.

There are no requirements or applications to fill out - show up at the 911 center if you or a family member needs some cold weather gear.
