2-Month-Old Broken Arrow Girl's Death Under Investigation

A 2-month-old girl died in Broken Arrow today.

Police are investigating the death, which they said does not appear to be suspicious at this time.

Officers and firefighters responded to a residence in the 1700 block of North 27th Street around 3 p.m. Monday, officer James Koch said in a news release.

The infant was found unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital.

The child could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the hospital around 4 p.m., Koch said.

The death and the surrounding circumstances are under investigation.

The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct its own investigation to determine the child's cause of death.

There were several other children inside the residence at the time and arrangements were made to have them picked up, Koch said.

The Department of Human Services was contacted and responded to the residence.

While it is still early in the investigation, the incident does not appear to be suspicious, he said.
