Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents are looking into the death of an Adair County police officer.

The Westville Police Department officer was supposed to be at work at 6 p.m. Tuesday night, but did not show up for his shift, said Jessica Brown, OSBI spokeswoman.

A coworker reportedly was sent to check on the officer and found him dead inside his home, Brown said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, Brown said.

The officer's death is being investigated as suspicious because the officer is in his 20s, Brown said.

Agents were on the scene of the officer's home Tuesday night.
