Voters in Tulsa picked Brian O'Hara to represent the Republican Party in the State Senate District 37 race.

On Tuesday, O'Hara beat six other Republicans with hopes to fill the seat vacated by Dan Newberry, who resigned to focus on his private-sector career.

O'Hara will face Democrat Allison Ikley-Freeman on November 14.

And a $15-million construction bond for a new elementary school for Stigler Public Schools failed to get the 60 percent majority it needed to pass during an election Tuesday.
