Police arrested a man after an off-duty, armed security guard intervenes in a home break-in early Monday.

Officers got the call at 2:35 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Rockford.  They say the victim said the man, who police identified as 40-year-old Steven Long, had first knocked, then kicked in the front door after she refused to open it.

Police say the victim then grabbed a knife for self-defense and headed toward the back of the house.

They said Long left but lingered around the fence in front of the home.

Officers say that is when the neighbor heard the noise, came over and held onto Long until officers could arrive.

Police say no one was hurt.

Steven Long was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a first-degree burglary complaint.
