The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals has a big event coming up this weekend to raise money for their programs. The group is a non-profit organization dedicated to overcoming pet homelessness, abuse and neglect.

The Fur Ball Gala is Friday, November 3. There will be dinner, music, raffles and auctions for items including trips and guitars autographed by Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.

Two of Oklahoma Alliance for Animals programs are helping with lost pets and a program called Unchain Oklahoma.

They recommend microchipping in case your pet gets lost, but they have some other ideas to help you get the word out. Alert your neighbors, form a search party, check shelters within 60 miles, post on social media and make flyers are just a few of their suggestions.

Unchain Oklahoma helps educate pet owners and gives them alternatives to chaining your pet.
