The boyfriend of a mother whose three-year-old son died from severe injuries in 2015, will be back in a Creek County courtroom Wednesday.

After a judge took a break last week to catch up on some other criminal cases, the child abuse murder trial of Christopher Whinery resumes.

Almost three years ago, prosecutors believe Jason White’s head was slammed against something, causing what doctors describe as an injury that would be similar to being dropped three stories.

At the time, Whinery told police Jason had been jumping on a bed and fell and hit his head.  Its not clear exactly what happened that day, but Jason ended up dying in the hospital.

The child's mother, Rebekah White. White also faces a murder charge but won't go to trial until next year.
