JENKS, Oklahoma - The state fire marshal is investigating Jenks' first deadly fire in years after a 53-year-old man was found dead in a home Tuesday morning. 

Investigators say the fire happened at about 4 a.m. and the body of the man was found inside the house behind the front door and it appeared that he was trying to get out of the home. 

The fire burned through the roof and the home is a total loss. 

Jenks Police identified the man as Tommy Nelson.

The cause of death and the cause of the fire have not been released.
