CLAREMORE, Oklahoma - Workshops are being held in Green Country to help veterans and their families navigate services offered by the V.A.

The first workshop was held at the Claremore Conference Center on Monday.

Representatives from veterans service groups and the Department of Veterans Affairs shared information and answered questions.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin hosts the workshops each year.

“We have veterans from Korea, from Vietnam, and in those areas that they have never used the V.A. system before, they’ve never reached out for help, they don’t know what benefits are available to them, and, look, they’ve earned it,” said Congressman Mullin.

The next workshop is Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. in McAlester at the Stipe Recreation Center.
