Deputies Arrest Sex Offender In Wagoner County
WAGONER COUNTY, Oklahoma - A registered sex offender is off the streets after Wagoner County deputies arrested him in a sting operation.
Deputies say Raymond Bryant was registered as living at his parents’ home in the Coweta area, but investigators discovered he hadn’t lived there in several years.
They say a warrant was issued for his arrest and investigators started trying to locate him.
During the investigation, deputies say they received information that Bryant was self-employed doing lawn care.
Investigators got his phone number and set up a meeting to provide a quote on a job, deputies say, and when Bryant arrived at the meeting, he was taken into custody without incident.
“He showed up under the pretenses that he thought he was going to get to mow somebody’s yard, but instead he walked away in handcuffs for failure to register as a sex offender,” said Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliot.
Bryant is required to register for the rest of his life because of a child abuse case in Tennessee in the early 1990s.
He was taken to the Wagoner County Detention Center and was booked on a $10,000 bond.
