TULSA, Oklahoma - Police say officers barely missed catching a man who they say robbed a Tulsa convenience store early Thursday.

Captain Malcolm Whiteman says the robbery occurred at the QuikTrip near 71st and Riverside just after 3 a.m.

He says the man, who was wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun, walked into the store and demanded cash from the clerk.

Police say the man took the money as well as several other items, before running out of the store.

Captain Whiteman says officers were nearby, but did not see the man leave the store.  He says their K9 officers were unable to track the man.

No customers were inside the store at the time and the clerk was not injured.
