Edmond city officials will be discussing the former Coffee Creek Golf Course this week.

They are considering rezoning it for development.

The Homeowners Association has been working with attorneys to fight this potential development. Home owners said they really just want to have a golf course in the location.

The proposed development would include retail, office and residential space. David Jacobson is an attorney in Edmond but also a homeowner in Coffee Creek.

He said the lawsuit is based off of the expectation that this golf course is part of the make up of this neighborhood.

He said homeowners are concerned everything will be crammed into this 189-acre property.

Jacobson said he doesn't know how many people will make it to the Planning Commission meeting but he knows residents want their voices heard.

"We're not picky about who would run a golf course it's just we all bought houses on a golf course and we want it to be a golf course. There's a lot of interest and I think a lot of people will want to give their two cents worth about the proposal," said Jacobson.

That meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
