OKLAHOMA CITY - Saturday, August 25th is the first time Oklahomans will be able to apply for medical marijuana licenses.

Even though the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority has stipulated that there will be no live streaming of the event, they are still holding a walk-through demonstration of how to apply for a medical marijuana license Friday.

The actual application process opens up Saturday at 10 a.m.

You can apply for a number of commercial licenses and of course as a patient.  To be able to get your medical marijuana patient license, you must have the recommendation of a physician, as well as a number of other documents.

Unless you have Medicare or SoonerCare, it costs $100, is nonrefundable, and is good for two years.

There has been some controversy about the rules created by the state Health Department Board, but those are the rules for now, if and until the legislature takes action.
