A brand-new art gallery in Tulsa's historic Greenwood District held its grand opening Friday night and launched a year-long series.

The Black Wall Street Arts Board of Directors held a block party and ribbon-cutting to introduce the first series "Conciliation."

It pairs a black artist with a white artist each month for a joint exhibition.

“It’s a part of a nexus of a bunch of different people, rebuilding of a district and breathing life into a city that’s already on the rise,” said Tyrance Billingsley of Black Wall Street Arts.

The gallery's artistic director says he hopes it's part of the solution for Tulsa race relations.
