A suspected thief is in jail after a property owner near Porter spotted him entering his property and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call of a larceny in progress at a property south of Porter on Friday morning.

Deputies say when they arrived, the suspect, identified as Nicholas Harsen, was still on the property, being held there by the owner.

According to deputies, the homeowner had been a victim of theft before and had decided to stay at that property the night before to watch for anyone trying to steal from him again.

The homeowner said he saw Harsen open the gate and drive onto his property

Deputies arrested Harsen on several complaints, including trespassing, grand larceny, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine).
