People in Washington County are furious that someone stole money from their checking accounts. They want to know who did it and how it happened.

Someone in Tulsa took $1,600 from a Washington County man over the weekend, but he wasn't in Tulsa, and he's not alone.

Jerry Carrier was shocked to see three withdrawals on his bank account – two for $600 and one for $400 – and he immediately called his bank.

"I used my card in Bartlesville, the money was taken out of my account in Tulsa at two different locations at ATMs at physical branches, so I'm not sure how they got my pin number, but they got it," he said.

Carrier soon learned other people were in the same boat. At first, they thought it was a problem at Arvest, but Arvest said their system is clear, meaning someone stole the information from another location.

"As far as I'm aware, it's not just Arvest, it's several other financial institutions, USAA, Truity Credit Union, Bank of America, Bank of Oklahoma," Carrier said.

After talking with other victims, Carrier thinks they may have figured out where their information was stolen.

This is the fourth time something like this has happened to him in two years, and he's fed up.

"To be bluntly honest, just get a real job. We all have one. We all struggle," he said.

Arvest said it's working to reimburse its customers.
