Owner Says 2 Dogs Brutally Killed In Jones

Michelle Bishop, of Jones, says she was just coming home from work when she saw her 10-year-old dog Sampson lying motionless in the driveway. 

"There was a puddle of blood by him and so I pulled in my spot and jumped out of my spot as fast as I could, and I could see star laying here and I could see blood. But I didn't realize how bad it was until I actually got up there, but there was trails of blood everywhere,” said Bishop.

Star had been shot several times and crawled under a pickup truck to die.

"They had to have shot her at least six or seven times. Somebody blew her leg off of her. They shot her in the neck. They shot her in the gut at least once. I think twice,” said Bishop. "She was tore up. They were having fun. They weren't shooting her to kill her."

The blood trail and spent casings show the shooter chased the dogs.

"There’s trails of blood up on the porch and in the garage, so somebody chased her around my yard where they weren't hurting anybody and killed them,” said Bishop.

"You killed them, and you didn't even care. Because they shot her so many times they could have just left her alone she would have died anyway. But you took pleasure in chasing her around and terrorizing her. You took pleasure in that,” Bishop continued.

Bishop says a neighbor heard gunshots coming from her home around 11 a.m. Saturday. She hopes whoever did this is caught before they do it again.

"I pray that I can forgive them. I want to forgive them because I know that’s what you're supposed to do,” said Bishop. “But how do you forgive somebody for that?"

Police want to talk with anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the 11000 block of Northeast 150th Street in Jones Saturday, September 29.
