TULSA, Oklahoma - Firefighters closed off part of a northeast Tulsa Street early Wednesday as they put out a car fire in the middle of the road.

Tulsa County deputies say the car's license plate and VIN plate were destroyed in the fire.

News On 6 was there as firefighters put out the fire on 56th Street North, more than a mile west of Highway 169 at around 12:30 a.m.

Deputies didn't find anyone in or around the car when they came upon the burning car.

The Tulsa Fire Department says one of the things that made the fire difficult to fight was a leaking fuel tank that they believe was fueling the fire

Deputies told News On 6 they plan to contact an Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigator to try and find the car's VIN number.
