Tulsa Police Arrest Woman They Say Stole Several Purses

Tulsa police have arrested a woman they say had taken three different purses from three different cars at three different parks. Police say this is one of the easiest crimes to prevent.

Women have their whole lives in their purses; things that could be easily replaced, things that are irreplaceable and of course their wallet. It has credit cards, a driver's license, and health cards, a huge score for criminals. This is why purses and wallets should never ever be left inside a car, even for a few minutes.

Police arrested Sandra Perry, saying she was carrying a stolen purse and wallet and went shopping with the victim's credit cards to the tune of $815 at Walmart. They said the victim was walking at Turkey Mountain when someone broke her car window and stole her purse.

They said Perry also had items belonging to a victim who'd been walking at LaForturne park when someone broke her window and stole her purse, wallet, and cell phone. The victim had recently bought some gift cards and police said Perry had them on her.

Police said they found another purse in Perry's hotel room that belonged to a victim who was walking on the trails near 56th and Riverside. Her car window was also broken, her purse stolen, and her credit cards used to the tune of $1,000.

Tulsa averages 500 car break-ins every month and police say it's 100 percent preventable by not leaving anything of value inside a vehicle. Ever.

If you put it in the trunk, criminals will break the window, flip the trunk release and still take it. So, either leave the purse at home and only carry an ID while walking or put the critical items in a backpack while you're walking, but, don't leave them in your car.
