Former Tulsa Co. Deputy Gets 25 Years For Child Sex Abuse

A former Deputy with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department was sentenced to 25 years on three counts of child sexual abuse Monday.

A Tulsa County District judge sentenced Josh Wood to a split sentence of 20 years in the Department of Corrections and five years on probation. The sentence came as a result of a plea agreement between the parties.

DA Kunzweiler stated, “In this case, we had a young child victim. A plea agreement in this instance certainly saved our taxpayers the expense of a trial, but I am mostly gratified that we were able to spare this child from the trauma of testifying to her experiences in front of a jury in open court,” said Tulsa County DA Steve Kunzweiler.

The victim was under 12 year old.
