TULSA, Oklahoma - Police are investigating the city's 59th homicide that took place Sunday, December 9th. The shooting was first reported as a suicide, but detectives said evidence shows the juvenile female victim did not shoot herself.

Officers were called just before 2:15 a.m. to the Bellmont Apartments in the 11300 block of East 23rd Street about a self-inflicted shooting. 

Police arrived to find a juvenile female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. They say the victim died on the way to the hospital.

Detectives said there were several people inside the apartment when the gun went off. Some of them ran off, and other witnesses stayed to talk to police. Police said witnesses told them the shooting was an accident.

Police are talking with witnesses who were there when the gun went off as well as attempting to identify others that were in the apartment at the time.
