At the Mother Road Market in Tulsa, you can hit the highlights of Route 66 and your car never leaves the parking lot.
It's Route 66 themed miniature golf and the creator of the course is Nick Bayer of Creatco Studios in Oklahoma City. It was quite the project. He says from start to finish it took four months to complete.
It has nine holes, each one a different iconic place along Route 66. Hole number one is Chicago, where the Mother Road begins. From Chicago, it’s on to St. Louis and the Arch. Then into Oklahoma and the Totem Pole Park, the Blue Whale in Catoosa, The Round Barn and Pops in Arcadia.
Hole number 7 is the Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo Texas, then it’s the Wigwam Village in Arizona. The final hole is the end of the Mother Road at the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Pier in California.
It’s a fun way to experience a little of the Mother Road at the Mother Road Market. It’s under cover so it works in good weather or bad.
