Sunny Saturday Warm-Up Across Eastern Oklahoma
TULSA, Oklahoma - Here comes the sun! A terrific warm-up is in store for our weekend.
It’s a triple whammy of good news for our Saturday. First, expect lots of sunshine throughout the day! Second, look for much lighter winds with those north breezes closer to 10 to 15 miles per hour today, likely decreasing during the afternoon. And third, get ready for a nice warm-up as high should climb nicely into the upper 50s across eastern Oklahoma today!
It will turn cold rather quickly tonight with dry air and light winds in place, so keep the coat handy if you’re out and about tonight. We’ll dip back into the upper 20s to lower 30s Sunday morning as clouds move back into the area. Despite a few more clouds Sunday, we still expect another nice warm-up with highs back in the upper 50s to end the weekend.
Looking for the next Arctic blast? Well… you’ll have to keep looking for a while. Above normal temperatures look to prevail well into next week. A very weak front will influence Green Country late Sunday into Monday, but temperatures will still remain mild with highs again in the upper 50s Monday and Tuesday.
Our next chance for precipitation comes our way Wednesday, but this system doesn’t look nearly as wet as the one that brought widespread heavy rains last week. Some light rain showers will be possible Wednesday, and there’s no threat of wintry weather with this system as temperatures will be much too warm for that. Temperatures may start to trend down late next week, but for now, we don’t see any major shots of really cold air for several days.
