Police Investigate Shooting That Killed Bartlesville Teen
BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma - Bartlesville police are investigating after an 18-year-old died after being shot over the weekend.
Police say Demonte Barbee of Nowata was found with a gunshot wound to the waist late Saturday night. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital by helicopter where he died the next day.
Detectives were originally told that Barbee had accidentally shot himself. However, upon a second interview on Monday, 19-year-old Dylan Michael Cobb said he had grabbed the gun when it accidentally went off, hitting his friend Barbee.
Police say the case is being reviewed by the District Attorney to determine what charges will be filed.
