Thief Leaves Tulsa Business Owners With Thousands Of Dollars In Damages

Police are trying to figure out who broke into a Tulsa grocery store and stole a cash register, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The owners of Asian Market, located at 69th and South Lewis, say whoever broke into the business tested their luck at the front door first. When the door wouldn't open-they tried the business next door, Ting Financial. 

Surveillance video shows a man in dark clothing with his face covered stealing a cash register from the grocery store. The business owners say the register was empty but the break-in left them with thousands of dollars in damage.

They say whoever broke into the business tried to get in by breaking the front door and reaching inside. When that didn't work, the thief broke into an office building next door, cut a hole through the wall and climbed into the grocery store.

The store manager says several stores in the area have been broken into recently and says he is thankful no one was hurt today.

"It's like, what really? If they need something they can just ask me instead of breaking my window and my bathroom wall. I'll just give it to them. Man, I don't know it's just crazy," said store manager Pau Mung.
