OG&E customers could see a rate hike soon as the utility company seeks to cover $600-million in upgrades.
OG&E is asking the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for the increase to reimburse its expenses. It says the upgrades were necessary to comply with federal emissions requirements.
The company says the upgrades will lower its sulfur dioxide emissions by 90-percent and its carbon dioxide emissions by about 40-percent.
