Eufaula Woman Killed In Pittsburg County Crash, OHP says
PITTSBURG COUNTY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says unsafe speed due to icy road conditions led to a fatality crash on Highway 9A north and east of Canadian, Oklahoma Wednesday evening.
Troopers stated in their report, Karen Marie Price of Eufaula was traveling too fast for conditions when her pickup began slide due to ice on the road, crossed the center line and was struck by westbound semi.
The impact caused the pickup to catch on fire.
Price, 63, died at the scene.
The driver of the semi, Thomas Burris, 50, of Canton, Ohio was taken to a McAlester hospital, where he was treated and released.
The OHP report says the crash remains under investigation.
