The US Senate confirms an OU meteorology professor to be President Trump's top science adviser.
Kelvin Droegemeier was previously the Vice President for Research at OU and served on the National Science Board.

It's not clear when he'll be able to get to work though, as the Office of Science and Technology Policy, which he now leads, is affected by the government shutdown.
