TULSA, Oklahoma - The granddaughter of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. is in Tulsa this week for the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout.

Karsyn Elledge says she is excited to carry on the family name and grateful for the humble beginnings.

The Shootout is the largest micro sprint racing event in the country.

"I think it's really important that you hit every step, you know, because there are things every step of the way that will teach you that you can miss out on if you don't," said Karsyn Elledge.

After the Tulsa Shootout, Karsyn will compete in the 33rd Annual Chili Bowl later this month.
