Tulsa Police Look For Suspect In Deadly Thanksgiving Day Shooting
TULSA, Oklahoma - Law enforcement is looking for a 17-year-old who is charged in a deadly shooting that happened on Thanksgiving Day.
Jaime Montanez is charged with first-degree manslaughter and pointing a weapon after police say Kevin Ortiz was shot in the face and died this past Thanksgiving. An affidavit reveals Montanez and Ortiz were hanging out that day, and during a phone call, Montanez told friends Ortiz had shot himself.
Detectives say Montanez first repeated that story to them, but later admitted that he was holding the gun when it went off.
Police say they also discovered a video and photo of the suspect "recklessly handling firearms" twice previously.
