TULSA, Oklahoma - Easy Apple Crisp

For the filling:
5 medium Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples
1 tablespoon real maple syrup
3 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons cinnamon

For the Crumble topping:
1 cup old-fashioned or thick rolled oats
½ cup almond flour
½ cup chopped pecans
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ Himalaya pink salt
¼ cup melted coconut oil or butter
¼ cup real maple syrup

Preheat oven to 350º. Peel apples and dice into cubes. In a large bowl, toss with maples syrup, water, and cinnamon. Pour apples into a greased 9 inch or 8-inch square baking dish.

In the same bowl, add oats, almond flour, nuts, cinnamon, salt, coconut oil or butter, and maple syrup. Stir until well mixed and pour into baking dish on top of the apples.

Bake at 350º for 40 to 45 minutes until apples are soft. Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil halfway through baking to prevent over-browning.

Serve warm or cold.
