Oklahoma House Committee Passes Teacher Pay Raise Bill

The State House is considering a new bill to increase teacher pay. A House committee unanimously passed House Bill 1780 Wednesday.

It would give all Oklahoma public school teachers a $1,200 raise.

State superintendent Joy Hofmeister says competitive pay is critical to stopping the teacher shortage.
She says, "This bill represents an important step forward for Oklahoma."
