A petition to sell a state to help with the national debt is gaining steam.

A Change.org petition says the $22 trillion dollars in debt is too much, so we should sell Montana. Nearly 7,000 people have signed the petition to sell the Big Sky state to Canada for $1 trillion dollars.

The petition is intended as a joke as the federal government cannot sell a state because of the Tenth Amendment.
