House Passes Bill Punishing Railroads For Trains Stopped On Tracks

A bill that would fine railroads if trains stop on tracks and block traffic is moving forward.

The Oklahoma House overwhelmingly passed the bill on Wednesday. The bill would allow cities, counties and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to fine railroad companies up to $10,000 if their trains block intersections for longer than ten minutes.

The bill now heads to the Senate.
