Former Tulsa Firefighter Mark Meyer has passed away.
Meyer was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and was described as hard-working, passionate, and selfless by members of the community. Meyer was also a coach at Verdigris High School and created Hydrants of Hope, a program for kids fighting cancer.
Verdigris Coach Could Be The Nation's Most Valuable Coach
Tulsa Fire Department made posted about Meyer's passing on Facebook saying in part:
"He has shown us how to love your neighbor. He has demonstrated what it looks like to put the needs of others before your own. Mark has shown us all what love looks like, and he did all these things while engaging in the most difficult fight of his life."
