Man Dies In Shooting At Tulsa Edenwood Apartments
TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa police are investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment complex. A young man is dead, officers said.
He has been identified as Xzavion Chatman, 18. He died of a gunshot wound to the upper torso, police said.
Officials say it happened at the Edenwood Apartments, 2171 North Hartford Avenue. Witnesses and police said everyone scattered after the shooting, and police spent hours looking for suspects.
"They may have made it out. We're not sure," said Sergeant Dedlorn Sanders. "We're looking around, doing canvasses to see if anybody noticed anything.
Police searched for what they thought might be as many as three people present when the shooting happened.
Neighbors at the complex said they Chatman, who didn't live in the complex for was a frequent visitor.
Officers briefly surrounded the apartments while they looked for suspects and witnesses. They found two bullet casings at the scene in the breezeway between two apartments.
They said they are still investigating the case.
