Woman Detained After Man Shot To Death Near Sallisaw

Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting at a home near Sallisaw. Sheriff Larry Lane said the suspect is in custody.

A man was shot and died of his wounds, Lane said, at a home southeast of town. The shooting took place around 4 p.m. Friday, March 22.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to take over the homicide investigation. The OSBI said the person in custody is female.

"The investigation is currently open and ongoing," the OSBI said in a news release.

No names have been released.
