Burglar Caught On Mobile App Stealing From OKC Homes

A brazen burglar victimized two different families on South Post Road in Oklahoma City. 

The “Ring” cellphone app recorded the man knocking on Jim and Gail Marlatt’s front door. The man smoked profusely from a cigarette as he paced outside the house. He even attempted to wave into a front window. 

Then the Marlatt’s say, the man broke down the couple’s back door and stole several items, including TV’s, tools and liquor.

“It was really disheartening to come home to see what was done,” said Jim. “He came in and took all kinds of things. Some of them are irreplaceable, especially some heirlooms from my wife’s parents, both died recently.” 

The suspect then drove his white Ford extended cab pickup truck across the street to James Hester’s house.

Hester is a Tinker Air Force Base firefighter.  He says the man stole a 10-foot long trailer from him, that contained $30,000 of fire-training equipment.

“He’s from around here real close,” said Hester. “Because my trailer had a hitch lock on it. So, he was only able to chain it on his bumper somehow. So, he didn’t get very far.”
